His pioneering techniques of gelatin coating pills proved to be the pillar of success for his company. Following the demise of Eli Lilly in the year 1889, his son Josiah K. Lilly Sr. took over the reins of the company. The boy had inherited his father’s social-natured quality and ordered the company for fulfilling the most required medications for sustaining revival pains following the San Francisco earthquake during 1906.
